San Jose power Soccer

Home to the San Jose Steamrollers & San Jose Flash, we empower athletes through adaptive team sports and inclusive community support.

About San Jose Power Soccer

San Jose Power Soccer is an organization dedicated to providing athletes with physical disabilities the opportunity to compete in the fast-paced sport of power wheelchair soccer. Our two teams, the San Jose Flash and San Jose Steamrollers, represent the heart of adaptive sports in Silicon Valley.

What is Power Soccer?

Power Soccer is the first competitive team sport designed specifically for power wheelchair users, played on an indoor basketball court using oversized soccer balls and specially equipped wheelchairs. Metal bumper guards are attached to the front and rear of wheelchairs which allow athletes to move, pass, and shoot a power soccer ball. The rules are similar to able body soccer. There are 4 players from each team on the pitch during the game. Players are rotated in, so everyone gets to play.  The game is as strategic as it is exciting. Whether you're playing or cheering from the sidelines, every match is packed with skill, teamwork, and energy.
